Evansville woman allegedly shoplifts, almost runs down store employee

HENDERSON, Ky (WEHT) – An Evansville woman is facing charges after allegedly shoplifting from a store and trying to run down a confronting store employee.

According to an affidavit from Evansville Police, an officer was called to a gas station on Washington Avenue in reference to an assault on Thursday at 7:20 p.m. Dispatch advised a female tried to hit a someone with her car.

Investigation underway after man in wheelchair injured

The victim, Amanjit Singh, claims he is an employee at the Dollar Depot across the street. He says he caught a female shoplifting a phone charger and charging block.

He later caught up with the woman at the gas station. After confronting the woman, later identified as Melissa Noble, he was trying to a picture of the license plate. That was when Noble allegedly swung a jug of fluid at Singh, hitting him in the hand. Noble then reportedly got into her car, and “aggressively” backed it up with Singh still behind it. After getting out of the way, EPD says Noble put the car in drive and “swerved” toward Singh in an “aggressive manner”…
