EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WKRC) – An Indiana man who was freed after posting bond in connection to an attempted murder charge has been accused of DUI and rape.
According to WFIE, Braxton Morris was taken into custody after deputies in Vanderburgh County, Indiana responded to a home on Char Mar Lane in Evansville after receiving reports of a domestic battery at around 10 p.m. on January 9 of 2025.
After arriving at the scene, authorities learned that the suspect had allegedly committed the following actions, per the outlet:
- Physically assaulted the victim
- Attempted to strangle the victim
- Threatened to kill the victim
At some point during the alleged altercation, Morris reportedly grabbed a crossbow, loaded it and fired at the victim, and struck a staircase railing. According to WFIE, officers learned that the victim managed to escape with the help of a third-party and contacted police…
