WARRICK COUNTY, Ind. (WEHT) — The Warrick County Health Department and other community partners held its first community baby shower this afternoon.
The event was free for parents and caregivers in the area and provided education resources and supplies. There was a large turnout, and many walked away with car seats, pack-and-plays, and other materials for newborns. One of the main purposes of the event was to educate parents on safe sleep for infants, which health officials say is a rising issue in Warrick County.
“The Warrick County Health Department is a resource to anyone who’s having a baby, from immunizations to weight checks, blood pressure checks for mom,” Coroner Alissa Enright said. “So there is a part of that. And then secondly is to promote safe sleep for babies. That’s why the coroner’s office is here.”…
