Henderson honors officers for bravery; welcomes new recruits

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEVV) — The Henderson Police Department recently celebrated a day of recognition and new beginnings, spotlighting both heroic actions and the introduction of new officers.

Officers Wareyko, Hatchett, Quinn, and Edwards received accolades at the City Meeting for their bravery during a structure fire on November 2. The officers responded to a house fire on Millcreek Drive, and entered the blaze to rescue occupants.

“Our officers were able to break a rear window, gain entry, and successfully bring one occupant out to safety,” the department said in an online social media post. Despite their efforts, one individual did lost their life in the fire…
