High Spirits liquor license transfer a dead deal

HENDERSON, Ky (WEHT) – A liquor license transfer that has caused a public backlash in Evansville is dead.

High Spirits has withdrawn its application for a permit to operate a liquor store on S. Kentucky Avenue. Neighbors opposed to the move because they said there are several other liquor stores in the part of town.

High Spirits tried to transfer a liquor license to the aforementioned location, but according to attorney Michael Schopmeyer, who is the attorney representing the neighbors opposed to the move, said it is not going to happen…
