EVANSVILLE — The Nov. 30 seizure of more than 30 pounds of marijuana and two pounds of cocaine during searches in Evansville followed a months-long investigation into interstate drug trafficking between Indiana and Michigan, court filings show.
The sizeable confiscations coinicded with the arrests of two accused traffickers by the Evansville-Vanderburgh County Drug Task Force, whose detectives employed a mix of investigative techniques ranging from electronic surveillance and the use of plainclothes officers to old-fashioned police work.
Keonta M. Barton, 48, of Pontiac, Michigan, faces felony charges of dealing cocaine and dealing marijuana following an undercover surveillance operation and targeted traffic stop on Nov. 30.
