OWENSBORO, Ky. (WEVV) — An Owensboro man is claiming his Fourth Amendment rights were violated after he accidentally called 911, leading police to his door.
Body camera footage showed a conversation between the homeowner and officers, where an officer stated, “That still gives us the right to come in and search for that.” The homeowner responded, “Not without a warrant,” to which the officer replied, “I don’t have to have a warrant when I can smell it.”
