Evansville’s oldest radio station to go silent

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) — Evansville’s oldest radio station is set to go silent.

Townsquare Media plans to shut off its AM signal, WGBF-AM, on December 31. The 1280 signal was the first radio signal to go on air in Evansville, launching back in 1923.

The company is currently trying to sell the signal, but the company has not shared if any offers have been made…
