Mild through weekend, then sharply colder

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) -Christmas Day highs were in the middle 60s across the Tri-State, making this the third-warmest Christmas on record at Evansville. The mild temps, clouds and fog will hang on through Thursday night and into Friday. Some breaks in the clouds may allow temps to sneak into the 70s on Friday and Saturday. The warm spell will come to an abrupt end by Sunday afternoon into Monday morning. A strong cold front will force Arctic air into the region and send temps into the low to middle 30s by Monday. A few rumbles of thunder or storms will be possible during the transition on Sunday. Next week will feel more like winter with highs in the 30s on Monday and Tuesday and then the 40s on Wednesday and Thursday. Lows will reach the teens by Tuesday morning…
