Warrick County firefighters urge safety following fourth house fire in two weeks

WARRICK COUNTY, Ind. (WEHT) — Firefighters from Skelton Owen Fire Territory and Booneville Fire Department tackled a house fire Monday morning that investigators determined as electrical.

This is the fourth house fire in Tennyson in two weeks. As temperatures continue to drop, firefighters say they often see electrical fires caused by a combination of space heaters and faulty power strips.

“Four structures fires in one area, it kind of seems fishy,” says Boonville Fire Department Captain Josh Russelburg. “That could be age, weather, human error, plug-ins, overloaded circuits, things like that.”
