Posey County Emergency Management says the program will take individuals who have been diagnosed with a cognitive condition and put bracelets on them. Those afflicted with a cognitive condition can choose whether they want the bracelet on their wrist or their ankle. What this will do is activate a transmitter in the event the individual starts to roam, which will notify dispatch, who will then initiate a search for the person.

Officials say for those who would like to enroll people in this program, people can contact Posey County Emergency Management at either 812-838-1333, 812-838-1319 or [email protected]
