HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – A man from Washington, Indiana, was arrested in Evansville and charged with theft following an investigation into a bank robbery in Edwardsville earlier this week.
According to an affidavit, Evansville Police were contacted by the Edwardsville Illinois Police Department to request assistance in an investigation into a bank robbery that happened at approximately 2 p.m. on Tuesday. Authorities say the suspect was seen in surveillance images with long brown hair and “oversized clothing” that appeared to be padded to alter his physical appearance.
Police say the suspect stole over $4,000 before fleeing from the scene in a vehicle heading eastbound on Highway 143. Evansville Police say they were able to locate the vehicle on East Virginia Street and initiate a traffic stop.
