Mild week, on Alert for storms Friday

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) -Temperatures will perk up this week as persistent southerly winds carry milder air up from the Gulf. Highs will rise into the upper 50s and lower 60s each day. Southerly winds will increase toward the end of the week as a cold front presses in from the northwest. Friday is a First Alert Weather Day. Longer range models are pointing to possible severe storms, but the timing and type can’t be determined this far in advance. Generally, this setup can lead to severe thunderstorms with damaging winds, hail and tornadoes. We should have a more detailed and focused forecast for timing and mode toward the middle of the week. Behind the cold front, temps will crash back down into the upper 30s and lower 40s……
