Everett Nunn’s family calls for justice at EPD merit board meeting

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) – At EPD’s first merit board meeting of the year, family and friends of Everett Nunn were there to have their voices heard, and to hear the latest on the investigation into EPD officer Nicholas Helfert.

Nearly two months ago, Nunn was shot and killed by officer Helfert as he responded to a call about a family disturbance.

Chief Philip Smith gave that update today, saying the internal investigation is almost complete, only waiting on a toxicology report from the state police…
