EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) – A recent inspection of the coal refuse dam at the old AMAX Ayrshire mine site in Warrick County indicates the dam is in “fair” condition and not an imminent safety risk to the public, according to the Indiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR).
The coal refuse dam at the AMAX Ayrshire mine site is located a few miles from the Blue Grass Fish and Wildlife Area in Warrick County.
