EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) – We remain on alert for heavy snow and dangerous cold through the next couple of days. The snow will fall over the weekend, but then the extreme cold will continue through Tuesday morning.
The entire Tri-State is under a Winter Storm Warning until 6 PM Sunday. Scattered snow is already falling across our region and will continue through this afternoon and evening, likely leaving snow totals of 2 to 5” for most of us by the end of the day.
Overnight, the snow will become wetter and heavier, and parts of western Kentucky could see a changeover to some sleet. By Sunday morning, most of southwest Indiana and southeast Illinois will have picked up a total of 6 to 12” of snow. The totals may be lower in Kentucky due to sleet mixing in with the snow there…
