Evansville family gets relief from high medical bills after insurance company ‘misspoke’

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) – Jesse Cano was diagnosed with a rare auto-immune disorder, Guillain-Barre syndrome, in November 2024 after waking up paralyzed.

His case manager, brought in through his insurance company Consociate Health, kept approving physical therapy sessions Jesse needed, even after he hit his pre-approved, hard-limit of 60.

“The demand for, and the need for, therapy was really the only thing to help with Guillan-Barre,” Jesse said. “There’s no treatments, there’s no other doctor’s appointments. All you really focus on is therapy.”…
