Two arrested on weapons charges following ‘shots fired’ investigation

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEVV) — A joint investigation into a shots fired report led to the arrest of a man and a juvenile earlier this week after detectives recovered multiple firearms during a traffic stop.

Dyawn D. Griffin, 31, and a juvenile suspect were taken into custody on Feb. 10. The arrests follow a 10-day investigation conducted by the Evansville Police Department’s Adult Investigation Unit and the Street Crimes Unit.

The investigation began on Feb. 1, when detectives were called to the 1600 block of Jackson Avenue to investigate reports of shots being fired. On Tuesday, detectives involved in the case identified and stopped a vehicle linked to the investigation…
