EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEVV) — The U.S. Postal Service (USPS) will observe Presidents Day on Monday, Feb. 16, resulting in the closure of all retail locations and a pause in regular mail delivery.
Normal mail delivery and retail window services will resume on Tuesday, Feb. 17. While traditional counter service will be unavailable Monday, Indiana residents can still access a variety of shipping and mailing services through usps.com and automated kiosks.
Many self-service kiosks, located in select Post Office lobbies, are available 24 hours a day. These machines allow customers to:
- Purchase stamps and weigh packages.
- Print postage for Priority Mail, Priority Mail Express, and international shipments.
- Access package tracking information.
As part of a broader modernization effort, the USPS is also expanding access to “Rapid Dropoff Stations” and “USPS Smart Lockers.” The dropoff stations allow customers with prepaid or merchant-provided QR code labels to bypass lines for quick acceptance scans.
