Indiana man gets life for killing ex-wife, son weeks after divorce hearing, torching home

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WKRC) – Two people found dead inside a burning home on New Year’s Day 2025 were killed in a double homicide that investigators said was staged to look like an accident.

Michael Kegg Jr., 53, was sentenced Feb. 13, to a total of 126 years in prison for the murders of his ex-wife, Malisa Kegg, 51, and his son, Michael Kegg III, 34, reports Law & Crime. He received 64 years for his son’s murder and 62 years for his ex-wife’s murder, according to the outlet.
