NEWBURGH, Ind. (WEHT) — The Newburgh Area Food Pantry is getting a boost to help meet steady demand, after receiving a $1,000 donation through the Wayne’s Giveback Project 2026, hosted by Wayne’s Appliances.
Volunteers with the pantry say they’re currently serving about 130 to 140 families each month, helping neighbors in Newburgh and Yankeetown who meet income guidelines.
Along with food, the pantry provides essential household and hygiene items that typically cannot be purchased with SNAP/food benefits, including laundry detergent, cleaning supplies, toilet paper, paper products, shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste and bar soap…
