Whether your kids love the outdoors or you just want them to learn some real-world skills, John James Audubon State Park has something pretty cool planned.
The park, located in Henderson, Kentucky, is hosting Youth and Children’s Survival Skills Workshops this March, giving kids ages 6 to 16 the chance to learn practical outdoor survival basics in a safe, hands-on environment.
Survival Skills Workshop For Youth Ages 10 To 16
Older kids ages 10 to 16 can attend on Saturday, March 7, 2026, from noon to 3 p.m. The cost for ages 10 to 16 is $15 per person.

Participants will learn important skills like what to pack for a hike, what to do if they get lost, how to find shelter, and even how to signal for help.
Survival Skills Workshop For Kids Ages 6 To 9
Younger adventurers ages 6 to 9 can take part on Saturday, March 14, 2026, from noon to 2:30 pm. The cost for younger kids is $12 per child.
