HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office says a juvenile is in custody after leading deputies on a high-speed pursuit that ended in a crash inside a stolen vehicle.
According to a release, deputies with the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office attempted to initiate a traffic stop at approximately 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday after the driver reportedly made multiple traffic violations near the intersection of First Avenue and Mill Road. However, the driver failed to stop for authorities and continued southbound, disregarding multiple traffic control devices.
Deputies say the vehicle reached speeds above 100 miles per hour while traveling west on State Road 66. Authorities say stop sticks were successfully deployed near Detroy Road, and the vehicle lost a tire shortly afterwards.
