Evansville juvenile accused of starting high-speed chase in stolen car

EVANSVILLE – An Evansville 16-year-old behind the wheel of an allegedly stolen car is accused of taking Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s deputies on a high-speed chase Wednesday night that sometimes topped 100 miles per hour.

According to a news release VCSO issued on Thursday, the juvenile – who wasn’t publicly identified because of their age – has been booked into the juvenile detention center on multiple charges, including a Level 4 felony count of resisting law enforcement while causing serious bodily injury; auto theft; and criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon.

Another juvenile who deputies say was a passenger during the chase reportedly suffered a “hip injury.” They’re under the custody of the Indiana Department of Child Services…
