EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEVV) — Evansville police are investigating a felony battery that left a man with serious bodily injuries early Friday morning near the intersection of East Illinois Street and North Heidelbach Avenue.
Officers responded to the scene just after 12:45 a.m. after a passerby reported seeing a person lying on the ground. According to an Evansville Police Department incident report, arriving officers found a man unconscious but breathing, positioned halfway on the sidewalk and halfway in the roadway.
Police observed substantial injuries to the man’s face, including heavy bleeding, a dislocated jaw, and a large laceration on the top of his head. Investigators also noted a broken liquor bottle and blood spotting on the sidewalk a few feet away from where the man was found…
