EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEVV) — The Vanderburgh County Highway Department has closed several local roads until further notice as the Ohio River continues to rise toward a predicted crest next week.
According to the National Weather Service, the Ohio River at Evansville is expected to crest at 36.6 feet by Wednesday, March 11. While this level remains below the official minor flood stage of 42 feet, “action stage” begins at 24 feet, prompting early closures of low-lying roadways.
