Illinois–Indiana–Kentucky Weather Alert: 70 MPH Storm Line and Tornado Risk Late Sunday Evening

Paducah, Kentucky – Residents across southern Illinois, western Kentucky and southwest Indiana could face sudden tornado warnings and damaging winds Sunday afternoon as a fast-moving line of severe storms pushes into the region.

According to the National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center and the NWS Paducah office, much of the Illinois–Kentucky–Indiana Quad-State region is under an Enhanced Risk (level 3 of 5) for severe weather Sunday afternoon through Sunday evening. Meteorologists say storms are expected to organize into a west-to-east moving line capable of producing widespread wind gusts between 60 and 70 mph and brief spin-up tornadoes.
