5 Tri-State felons, 11 total, sentenced federally for illegal gun possession

HENDERSON, Ky (WEHT) – 11 convicted felons are heading back to prison after being convicted of illegally possessing firearms in Southern District of Indiana federal court.

Five of those are from the Tri-State.

Lanel Wimberly, 33 – Evansville

He was sentenced to four years and three months and will be subjected to two years of supervised release. Documents state Wimberly has previous convictions of the following:

  • Domestic Battery
  • Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Serious Violent Felon
  • Robbery
