EWSU Offers Free Yard Waste Pickup This Spring in Evansville

Now that spring is here (officially starts on March 20), you’ll be spending more time outside, working hard to get (and keep) your yard looking so fresh and so clean, clean. That means you’ll likely be trimming hedges, clearing out garden beds, and tackling those pesky weeds – all of which will lead to extra yard waste. And for the next few weeks, the Evansville Water and Sewer Utility (EWSU) will take that trash off your hands.

Evansville Spring Yard Waste Program Returns

From March 30 through May 1, you can take advantage of the annual Spring Yard Waste Service, offered free of charge for eligible EWSU residential customers! Yep, there’s no extra charge regardless of how many bags, containers, or bundles of yard waste you have.

How the Evansville Spring Yard Waste Service Works

Republic Services will collect your yard waste on your regular trash day. They just ask that you follow these simple guidelines:

  • Place your yard waste next to your city-issued trash cart.
  • Yard waste must be contained in plastic bags or tied in bundles no more than 4 feet long and 2 feet in diameter, weighing less than 50 pounds, or loose in containers weighing less than 50 pounds.
  • No special bags are required – just bag it up and set it out!
