If you’re traveling north on Interstate 165, and you don’t get off at the Hartford exit, you will be stuck on Interstate 165 for the next 23 miles. That long, lonesome, exit-free stretch has been under scrutiny because it is the longest stretch of interstate highway in Kentucky without an exit. That figures to change in the relatively near future.
New I-165 Interchange
Last fall, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet and the Owensboro-Daviess County Metropolitan Organization asked for suggestions for a new interchange with Interstate 165 between Hartford and Owensboro.
The five finalists were and are Masonville-Habit Road, KY 142, Poplar Log Bridge Road, Crane Pond Road, and Ky 764.
Tuesday evening, March 24th, KYTC and ODCMO met with the public and presented maps that would show what those interchanges would look like once completed. Major road construction and/or re-construction will be necessary for each one of them.

I-165 Interchange Feasibility
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet’s study also includes a graph that sums up the feasibility of each option. It’s pretty self-explanatory…
