PRINCETON — Toyota Motor North America announced a $1 billion investment in its U.S. manufacturing operations, including $200 million for its Princeton plant, as part of a broader effort to expand production and support future vehicle demand.
The Indiana investment will go to Toyota Indiana, where the company plans to increase production capacity for the Grand Highlander SUV. The model will be produced alongside the Sienna minivan and Lexus TX at the Gibson County facility, which employs thousands of Hoosiers and is marking its 30th anniversary this year.
The announcement coincides with Toyota’s 40th anniversary at its Kentucky plant and is part of a previously announced plan to invest up to $10 billion in U.S. facilities over the next five years.
