Evansville man faces domestic battery charge after Friday night incident

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) – Authorities say an Evansville man is under arrest after an incident of domestic battery.

Around 9:00 p.m. Friday, Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Deputies were sent out to a home in the 2700 block of Poppy Hills Drive, not far from Pollack Avenue and Lynn Road on the city’s southeast side.

A woman told 911 that someone pushed her. That person was later identified as 57-year-old David Kerney of Evansville.

Kerney told deputies that he and the victim were in a relationship and she came to the home of her friend. Kerney says he and the woman were in an argument and that he stood at the doorway with his hands behind his back, blocking entrance to the home…
