Evansville woman arrested after allegedly stealing power from neighbor

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEVV) — An Evansville woman faces a felony burglary charge after police say she crawled under her neighbor’s trailer to steal electricity using a series of extension cords.

Evansville Police Department responded to a harassment call Monday afternoon at a trailer park in the 2400 block of Van Bibber Avenue. Upon arrival, residents reported finding an extension cord running from underneath their home to the neighboring residence.

According to investigators, several small extension cords plugged together, stretching from the victims’ trailer into a side door of the neighboring home on Van Bibber Ave. One resident told police their electric bill had been unusually high for several months, resulting in $3,000 to $5,000 in additional charges…
