An Evansville man is facing a long list of serious charges after a months-long investigation into suspected drug activity.
According to the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office, detectives with the Evansville-Vanderburgh County Drug Task Force began receiving information in February that Kejuane Deonte Broomfield was allegedly dealing fentanyl from his residence.
Attempted Traffic Stop Leads To Arrest
On March 30, 2026, detectives attempted to conduct a traffic stop near Woodbridge Drive and Branchwood Drive. Authorities say Broomfield did not stop and instead attempted to flee, striking several detectives’ vehicles in the process.

Investigators were able to pin the vehicle and prevent further movement. After reportedly refusing multiple commands to exit, detectives broke the driver’s side window and deployed pepperball rounds before Broomfield ultimately surrendered.
He was taken into custody without further incident.
