EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) -April begins with strong southerly winds and temps in the 80s. Scattered storms will continue into Wednesday evening, then diminish overnight. An approaching cold front will yield southerly winds gusting to 40mph on Thursday. We are on alert for a few severe storms with damaging winds, hail and isolated tornadoes. The overall coverage of the storms will be low, but a few may reach severe limits. Temps will climb into the low 80s again on Thursday.
Friday will continue the unsettled pattern with more storms possible in the afternoon and evening and highs in the lower 80s. The warm and humid air will set the stage for more widespread showers and storms on Saturday. Again, a few severe storms can’t be ruled out, and locally heavy rainfall will be possible. Highs on Saturday will reach the mid 70s before the rain moves in by the afternoon. The cold front should be clear of the Tri-State by Saturday night…
