EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEVV) – The voices on the other end of emergency calls are being honored this week as part of National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, a nationwide effort to recognize the critical role of 911 dispatchers.
In Evansville, dispatchers handle an intense workload every day. On average, the Evansville-Vanderburgh Central Dispatch center receives around 800 calls daily, many involving serious emergencies that require quick thinking and calm communication.
