Boonville honors workers who died or were injured on the job

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – Citizens, local workers, officials and faith leaders gathered at Johnson Park in Boonville for a ceremony to honor workers who have died or suffered illness or injuries on the job this past year in Indiana.

Event organizers say the Workers Memorial Day is intended to help people be aware of the safeguards people have fought for to keep workers safe in the country. Since the job safety laws were passed more than 56 years ago, citizens have made great progress in making workplaces safer and protecting workers.
