Police: Evansville man arrested for battery, animal cruelty following altercation Thursday afternoon

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEVV) — An Evansville man was arrested Wednesday afternoon following an altercation at a residence on East Morgan Avenue. William McFall was booked into the Vanderburgh County Confinement Center on charges including animal cruelty, intimidation with a deadly weapon, and interference with reporting a crime.

At approximately 12:04 p.m. on April 30, 2026, officers were dispatched to a home on E. Morgan Ave. Upon arrival, officers located McFall and the victim outside the residence. Police separated the individuals to conduct an investigation.

According to the police affidavit, McFall initially claimed that no physical altercation occurred and that the pair was arguing over money. McFall stated that their dog growled and bit his left hand, prompting him to punch the animal. Officers observed two puncture wounds on his left hand, though McFall refused medical treatment.
