EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEVV) — On Sunday, Evansville Police conducted a welfare check at a home on the 1100 block of West Missouri Street after receiving a phone call from a concerned woman regarding the living conditions of her non-verbal autistic brother.
During the welfare check, police learned that Tamara Eaton and Michael Tinsley were the victim’s caregivers. Sgt. Anthony Aussieker, the public information officer for EPD, says, “They were not allowed inside the residence. They were able to see the individual they were checking on, so really they’re not able to get an appropriate welfare check done.” Police say Eaton said she had not allowed them to enter because adult protective services had been to the home four times in April, but authorities later discovered the claim was untrue.
Two days later, on May 5th, a service provider went to the home and described to the police that the home was destroyed and there were noticeable sores on the victim’s legs. The report prompted a second check from officers; however, authorities say no one answered the door…
