‘Car Wash Guy’ James Stinson, who helped police find fugitives, passes away

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) – The manager of a car wash in Evansville, who helped lead authorities to track down and capture a murder suspect from Alabama, has passed away.

Those who were close to James Stinson say that he had a heart attack Friday while cutting grass in Evansville.

Back in 2022, an escaped inmate and former Assistant Director of Corrections in Alabama were on the run from authorities. Hundreds of investigators were involved in the search for Vicky White and Casey White.

The pair were traveling north up through Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky and then, made a stop in Indiana, where the pair was hiding out in Evansville.
