DNR celebrates Mother’s Day with free fishing day in Indiana

WARRICK COUNTY, Ind. (WEHT) — Hoosiers were able to enjoy the beautiful weather for the first free fishing day of the year.

The Indiana Department of Natural Resources let residents’ fish without a fishing license or stamp on Sunday. Officials say if you already have a license, it’s a great opportunity to bring someone along and introduce them to the world of fishing.

Additional free fishing days are scheduled for June and again in September. We spoke to one family at the Bluegrass Fish and Wildlife Area in Warrick County who took advantage of the free fishing day…
