HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — Officials with the Evansville-Vanderburgh County Emergency Management Agency is urging boaters to be cautious when on the Ohio River the holiday weekend.
The agency says river levels are rising fast due to recent rains and water currents are moving fast. Because of this, officials say larger than normal driftwood is visible on the banks and some large pieces are out in the river channels.
Boaters are encouraged to have extra people watching for driftwood when out on the water. The agency also says everyone on the boat needs a life jacket and have a plan and tow rope if your boat becomes disabled…
