People with criminal records will have the opportunity later this month to connect with employment, housing and other support services and learn about expungement resources during Project Fresh Start’s annual information session in Fayetteville.
The June 23 event is designed to help people rebuild their lives by connecting them with opportunities and services focused on renewal and restoration, a Cumberland County news release said. Attendees will be able to meet with organizations and professionals offering assistance with employment, job training, legal aid, food assistance, healthcare, housing, transportation and reentry services.
Those with past criminal offenses are encouraged to attend in order to “reclaim purpose and rebuild their lives,” the release said. The organizations participating are NC Works, Cumberland County Community Development, the Cumberland County District Attorney’s Office, Cumberland County Justice Services, Cumberland County Legal Aid, the Fayetteville Metropolitan Housing Authority, the Fayetteville Support Center, Fayetteville Technical Community College, NC Works and Reentry & Community Solutions…
