On Thursday, November 12, at 5:30 p.m., Downtown Southern Pines trades its usual evening stroll for something a little louder. Tour de Trike is back, and it’s exactly what it sounds like: grown adults racing decked-out tricycles down West New Hampshire Avenue while a cheering crowd lines the course.
Picture a superhero neck and neck with a banker in a tutu, a local business owner pedaling furiously in a full mascot suit, and a crowd that gets to play along. Spectators can buy riders a boost when they need it most, or toss a pink Gorilla on a rival’s back. Nobody’s trike is safe, and that’s half the fun.
This is your invitation to race. No experience required, no team needed, and no one is taking it too seriously (well, almost no one). Dress up, bring your friends to cheer, and pedal your way to bragging rights that will last all year…
