These are the best and worst NC cities to get married in, according to new study

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — A new study takes a look at the best and worst cities to get married in North Carolina.

WalletHub compared more than 180 cities in the U.S. to find the cheapest and most convenient wedding destinations that promise a memorable day.

Among them are six cities in North Carolina.

The rankings were based on 26 key indicators of ‘wedding-friendliness’, including average wedding cost, event spaces per capita, hotel availability and weather.

According to the study, Charlotte is the best city to get married in in North Carolina.

The Queen City ranked as #15 on the list overall.

Other North Carolina cities on the list were ranked as follows:

  • Greensboro (#32)
  • Fayetteville (#56)
  • Raleigh (#69)
  • Winston-Salem (#81)
  • Durham (#85)

While the study says Fayetteville is the least expensive North Carolina city to get married in, the city scores very low in a certain category.

Across more than 180 cities in the U.S., Fayetteville ranks second-to-last in event planners per capita.
