Campbell University has selected the Ramsey family as the 2024 Family of the Year. Emma Ramsey, a student at the university, was nominated for the award after a professor recognized her during a campus tour. The Ramsey family, including Emma’s stepmother Candice, is known for their strong family bonds. The family was surprised by the award announcement.
The university’s annual Family Weekend is scheduled for February 9-11. The event includes various activities such as arts and crafts, family worship, sporting events, a class ring ceremony, and a magic show. The Ramsey family intends to participate in all activities, including a tour of Emma’s dormitory, Burkot Hall.
Emma is looking forward to introducing her favorite ‘Hot Chocolate Smoothie’ from the Camel Smoothie shop in the Oscar N. Harris Student Union. The family has fond memories of their previous visits to the campus, especially the Move-In Weekend.
The Ramsey family will be recognized at a halftime ceremony during the Campbell University men’s basketball game on February 11. Emma’s father, Reggie, a retired military pilot, is no stranger to such events, having previously conducted pregame flyovers for the Carolina Panthers.
