The Arts Council of Fayetteville|Cumberland County has added two new members to its team. Kashia Knight, a U.S. Army veteran with nonprofit sector experience, joined as a Grants Assistant on July 17, 2023. Knight will work with Michael Houck, Director of Grants & Allocations, and Sarah Busman, Arts Education Manager, to manage the Arts Council’s grants and the Artists In Schools (AIS) program. Knight is committed to supporting artists in securing necessary funding.
On January 8, 2024, Miles McKeller-Smith joined as the Director of Public Relations. McKeller-Smith, a graduate of Wake Forest University and the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, has a background in media production. In his role, he will oversee April Mata, Creative Manager, and marketing contractors. McKeller-Smith aims to increase public understanding of the Arts Council’s community role and explore potential partnerships.
The Arts Council of Fayetteville|Cumberland County is a 501(c)(3) organization that promotes creativity, economic development, and lifelong learning through the arts. It manages public and private funding for arts, cultural, and history activities in the Cape Fear Region.
