Wet, windy conditions are kicking off the week across the Cape Fear region.
A slow-moving front is sagging south in the Carolinas but should move out on Tuesday. As it passes, Fayetteville can look for blustery conditions with wind guts topping 40 mph.
After that, we can look for more seasonal, settled weather into the weekend.
Here’s the setup
The slow-moving front is creating unsettled conditions across the Cape Fear region, Rainfall has been heavier to the south and east of Fayetteville, with more rain expected into the evening. By the time all is done, widespread totals topping an inch are likely, considerably more to the south and east of Interstate 95. Highs of about 65 are likely for Fayetteville, with fog and mist.
Overnight, the front will nudge through, dropping morning lows to about 50. Fayetteville should wake up sunny, but very breezy. Blustery western winds gusting up to 40 mph at times will help hold highs across the region in the upper 50s. Winds will ease in the evening, and temperatures will drop to the mid-30s in Fayetteville.
