Turning hotels into apartments. Another project planned in Fayetteville.

The same developer that converted the former Bordeaux Motor Inn and Holiday Inn Bordeaux at 1707 Owen Drive into apartment-style living space has similar plans to convert another former motel into a living space, according to city records.

The Fayetteville City Council unanimously approved a resolution at its Aug. 12 meeting for GoodHomes Inc. to be issued private activity bonds not to exceed $80 million by the Public Finance Authority.

The private bonds are not city-funded and will be used for two mixed-income housing developments at 1707 Owen Drive and 1944 Cedar Creek Road, city records stated.

New York-based GoodHomes Communities is a private real estate investment company that transforms existing buildings into workforce housing apartment communities nationwide.

Holiday Inn Bordeaux

GoodHomes has remodeled the former Holiday Inn Bordeaux and convention center at 1707 Owen Drive into a 255-unit apartment community, with 205 large studios and 50 one-bedroom units, according to GoodHomes Bordeaux’s website.
