Host Fike High rode a big net game past West Johnston in four games to tip off 3-A Quad County Conference varsity volleyball play Tuesday afternoon, Aug. 27.
Fike, now 3-4, was led by 10 kills from April Leon while senior Lily Lyndon knocked down eight kills. KaDee Bass and Summer Bass each supplied seven kills in the 21-25, 25-23, 25-18, 25-23 victory. Paige Lewis came up with 16 digs and senior libero Katie Sharp posted 15 digs and Leon added 10 for her double-double.
Setter Maleah Davis totaled 24 assists to go with eight digs while KaDee Bass led Fike with four service aces.
The Golden Demons will host South Johnston on Thursday.

PIKEVILLE — Hunt also got off to a winning start in 3-A Quad County Conference play Tuesday with a 25-19, 21-25, 25-14, 26-24 triumph at C.B. Aycock.
Both teams exited 2-5 overall after their conference debuts.
Senior Presley Frazier and freshman Makenzie Collins each posted a double-double in kills and digs. Frazier led Hunt with 20 kills and tied classmate Paige Mathews with 21 digs while Collins had 15 kills and 11 digs to go with a team-high three aces.
